I last saw one like this about five years ago. I reckon it is a youthful guillemot - what do you think?

I'd say thats a madam guillemot.
We found something called 'birdsID" we and feel confident about our theory. Must acquire a proper new bird book, but haven`t found the Amazon site particularly helpful.
We feel fairly confident about ID.
Need to find new bird book; maybe a Collins field guide.
