...... down to the beach this morning as the wind had dropped and the sun was out. Some of the fluff or spume was looking like meringue in the sunlight.
The beach was littered with cuttlefish bones; anyone out there with a budgie?

You've done it again! You've covered up text with fab pics. But to read your Deathless Prose as well - hate missing anything!
Ru says: re cuttlefish Cuttlefish bones form the internal* shell of cuttlefish (usually sepia officinalis) which is a free-swimming tentacled mollusc which is related to the squid. *This is because they don`t have skeletons, as such, thus they can have something we refer to as an internal shell. A strange expression!

WHAT EXACTLY IS A CUTTLEFISH?
Ru says: re cuttlefish
Cuttlefish bones form the internal* shell of cuttlefish (usually sepia officinalis) which is a free-swimming tentacled mollusc which is related to the squid.

thus they can have something we refer to as an internal shell. A strange expression!
