At the end of a party....

.... some people have fireworks.
As it was the summer solstice we thought a straw man by the edge of the sea was more our style.
He was standing up to start with, nine foot of magnificent construction, but it was all too much excitement for him so he lay down and burned brightly.

A fitting end to the solstice bash, much enjoyed by all.

Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE that it did not contain a Corpse (or worse)?

Anyone else remember That Episode of 'Wycliffe'???

Lots of love from H.O. XXXXX

Yes I remember *that* episode of Wycliffe - it gets repeated regularly on ITV3! Glad the summer solstice celebrations this time were less gruesome! We have a beautiful sunset here - and me without my camera!! You would have heard me wail all the way doon sooth!

... or the film 'The Wicker Man' ?

So, Sian, why no camera? And setting fire to things on beach is very Norfolk......

Well I was out partying and left my camera at a friends - sigh. But sometimes it's just nice being present in the moment so I just enjoyed the sunset anyway - which still tinged the sky at 1.30am! And yes we have beach fires here too! Though we have to warn the coastguard if it's a large fire!

It is not exclusively Norfolk, I think. Wycliffe is set in Cornwall, and I think The Wicker Man was in some Far Flung Area north of the border.....

Still, as long as everyone in the village has been accounted for.....

H.O. Again!! XXXX
