As I never believe them I went for a walk on the beach, to calm my nerves. When I came back there they were putting tiles on the roof. The extension will never look the same again.

This sea is for the big boys...... four to five foot waves and plenty of them. I took over seventy shots. Most were just of the waves with me missing the action. On one I got lucky, but he is in for a ducking!
They keep going back for more and are having a whale of a time.

The first signs of the garlic.
Not the most exciting photo but this is what is happening in this tub.
The other tubs are looking a bit moth-eaten; some leaves are still pickable. I love butterflies but the cabbage white is too much. Our new crop of caterpillars is still going strong even after the first frost.
Must plant the broad beans.

An attempt to show that amazing curve as a wave breaks. I really needed to be more "side-on" but my powers of walking on water are very limited.
I don`t think this would have been much good for surfing as it was only three feet high; you would have to be very small to ride the tube...........

Looking for a wave.
One of the local surfers heading into the sea to catch a ride. By the time she did the light had gone for the camera - my bad luck.
Not the biggest surf but a lovely early evening and the sea is still warm, so they tell me.
With half term coming we may get some more action in daylight.

I know I need a longer lens, this is the best I can do at the moment. I heard them before I saw them, and nearly fell over pointing the camera at the sky.
How do I know they are pinkfoot geese? a nice bird watcher on the beach told me so. They were not as noisy as some of the other geese that chatter away nonstop.

I am plucking up courage to play with photoshop.
I am not sure if it does much for the photos but it is great fun.
This is an experiment, for starters, with the liquefy tool, and some colour changers on the surfer.
The sky was that colour to start with;

The beach has gone red; the seaweed is coming ashore at the end of its growing season. Although it`s half way through October the weather is very mild, almost summery, but this red beach is a sure sign that winter is on the way.
I can`t remember the seaweed`s name but it is really a pretty little thing, except when it`s in big lumps. I doubt it has a common name, just something long in Latin.

It looks like a big wave, but is only a baby; it is all very gentle this morning. The young gulls were just bobbing around in the morning sun. Three ladies were doing their yoga on the beach adding to the peaceful scene but they were far enough away from me; so their privacy was not invaded. A delicate balance ........

This is the first time , in eight years, that I have ventured on to the cliff path. I don`t do heights.
There are some very fine views, but to get the panorama you have to go right to the edge ........ no way.
This is as good as it gets.
A fabulous October morning and I plan to find a parachute for my photographer .......

Diversion signs can be a bit confusing, so when the coast road was closed a map was sent to us to clarify the position. As you may be able to see, although kindly meant, it was not very helpful. On the other hand it could be interpreted as the new road map to help us out of the credit crunch; either way, Norfolk Rules apply.
We are informed that Mundesley will be re-opened for the weekend; the signage will not necessarily disappear in a hurry ...

I think the hit counter has gone off its trolley, over a thousand hits in an afternoon seems a bit much.
If it`s real you lot out there are getting over excited, so no photo today; have a quiet evening with a glass of your choice and I will find something for you all tomorrow.

..... that the architect came to call .......
The window-maker came to measure the holes which will, apparently, contain glazed stuff eventually. The wind was blowing, we know we need the protection. The BUILDER came ... but he didn`t say anything; not to me, anyway. The two guys who are constructing the `bespoke` roof kept on working.
