Barking mad .........

We went to East Ruston Garden this afternoon.

And this is what we found.

Mundesley inshore life boat ....

..... was called out.

As far as I could tell this was not a major rescue but a minor incident that the volunteers dealt with effectively.

The Mundesley team is raised and paid for by the village and they are part of the safety measures that our beach enjoys.

Here is the ginger cat from next-door-but-one enjoying the sunshine as only a cat can.

The other photo is, believe it or not, of a heron in the River Mun. This is first time I have seen one for some years and I am hoping it will return so that I can get a proper shot.

Surfing on Friday night..........

.............. first you can, then you can't.

The local boys are riding the rather small waves.

Hopefully the big tides next week will be better.

The ladybirds are still with us.

It really is a bit much, as wherever you look or walk you cannot avoid them and I can safely say there are no greenfly left in North Norfolk.

The peacock butterflies are flitting about looking handsome; always a joy.

I want to join in the fun.

I was alerted to this gathering of young surfers playing on Mundesley beach.

They were having a surfing lesson in the evening sunshine. Most had surf boards but a few had bodyboards and all of them were having a wonderful time.

It was arranged by Plus One which does activity events for young people.

I thought it was a joyful sight and I understand they will be back next Friday.

Watch this space.
