The sun did come out for a little while and was being enjoyed by the newlyweds. Not a common sight on Mundesley beach but one to gladden the heart.

I could talk about the weather
but I will keep quiet as the words I would like to use are not printable.
The metal plate that is stuck in the sea defences is continuing to change and now has some plastic netting casting a shadow over its surface.

Horses on the beach.
Not a common sight as we only have clear sand at low tide. From the riders' dress you can see the day was a hot one. They were trying to get their mounts to gallop through the waves but they were having none of it. The weather was hot but the sea was cold and they were making quite clear they were not going for a paddle.
The beach has been a bit to crowded for me so I took Sally off to the gardens at East Ruston where we enjoyed the lush growth and the flowers.
Also a wonderful new stack of logs - I want one even though I do not have the space, it just looks so good.

The sun shone and the wind blew.
After gardening a quick look at the sea.
I can report that the compost bin has been dealt with. I did not see my furry friend or see its nest so I hope I did not disturb it too much.
Mundesley has a new Blue Flag so we are ready for the summer, if it ever comes. The wind was from the north so not very warm.

I have a problem......
The weather is not helping on the gardening front, but some thing have to be done. The compost bin has to be emptied so that the tubs con be enriched before the summer planting. The problem is that this little fellow is living in my bin, and may not be alone. I first saw him/her when adding garden waste to the bin and I don't know who was more surprised. I have found out that it is a Bank Vole and I managed to get this photo off the net. When I decant the compost I will try not to upset it too much.

Strange beast on the beach
The weather was much kinder today and I saw this JCB digger heading for the sea. Had the driver gone mad? Were they going for a paddle or a swim? But no, they had gone to get a bucket of water to wash part of the sea wall. Now why they would wish to do this I cannot think as the sea covers it at high tide. They must have a reason; any ideas?
The Sand Martins are beginning to set up their nesting sites on the cliff. As you see with much noise and clamour. I think it works on a first-come-first-served rule but there was a lot of bickering and almost fighting. The pair, top left, seemed to have booked their place.

The May Bank Holiday.
As you can see the beach was full of happy visitors who had come to enjoy the seaside. I think not, the air temperature was around 10c but the east wind chill factor made it feel about 2c. So this for all of you who thought they were missing out at not having a day by the sea.
Also some of the seawall is closed off while the powers that be are doing some repair work. I don't think Mundesley is ready for summer yet.

The Sand Martins are back.
The sand martins were flying around in the sunshine, too fast for a pic, will try to catch them when they start nesting. It has been a glorious warm day, with very little wind, the sea is still a bit choppy after the rough weather we have had over the last few days.
This little plant is called Spring Beauty and grows on the cliff bottom among the nettles. I think you can eat it in salads but it is well protected by the stinging nettles.
